About Dr. Levi

Dr. Ohad Levi is a highly experienced veterinarian who specializes in surgery for both horses and small animals. He received his DVM from the University of Turin, Italy, in 1989 and has been a Professor of Surgery at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Western University of Health Sciences, California (WesternU), since 2010. Dr. Levi has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) and has been leading the MIS training program for veterinary clinicians and students at WesternU. He has also incorporated MIS into the school curriculum, making it accessible to more aspiring veterinarians.

In addition to his extensive background in clinical surgery and surgery training services, Dr. Levi leads research in the field of surgery training of minimally invasive surgery. Over the last 14 years, he has published and presented different projects in multiple veterinary professional journals and conferences.

Before joining the academy, Dr. Levi owned a mixed animal private practice (Equine and Small Animal) for 10 years. He completed a three-year residency specialization program in Equine surgery at UC Davis, California, in 2010.
