Lindsey
Veterinary Assistant
Lindsey is a dedicated veterinary assistant with a strong background in veterinary care, horse training, and rehabilitation. Growing up with a mother already in the horse industry, Lindsey’s love for animals started early. She spent most of her teenage years riding and competing with her horse, Trinity, on the NorCal circuit.
Prior to her time at Kokopelli Veterinary Center, Lindsey graduated with her bachelors in Animal Science and specialization in Equine Science from UCDavis in 2022 and worked previously as an after hours colic surgery assistant at UCD Vet Teaching Hospital. She also rode and competed for the NCAA Equestrian Team as a student athlete all four years, spending her final year as a barn manager for the 20+ team horses.
Her time after graduation included time as a young horse trainer and groom for professionals in the NorCal equine industry before returning back to veterinary medicine, working as a veterinary assistant for Petaluma Equine Center splitting time between rehabilitation, emergency, and general equine practice. She concurrently work as an ambulatory shadow for Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center, helping with emergencies and general practice in the field.
Lindsey’s initial interest in reproduction started with a theriogenology internship at UCD Vet Teaching Hospital, where she shadowed residents and gained experience in equine reproductive procedures such as artificial inseminations and embryo transfers.
At Kokopelli, she gets to contribute her love and knowledge for horses during the equine breeding season while also expanding her experience into canine reproduction and small animal general practice. In the future, Lindsey hopes to take these experiences to professional veterinary school and obtain her DVM.
